James and Anna Sanchez have been the proud owners
of Papagayo since 1998. The husband and wife team
pride themselves on serving the freshest and tastiest
Mexican food in San Mateo. Their little hideaway is
conveniently located just off of hwy 92 & 280, within
the Crystal Springs Shopping Center. Jim enjoys a
hands-on approach to the needs of a family run business.
He makes all purchases for the restaurant to ensure
quality and selection. Papagayo is known for its NO LARD
policy, quality meats, and organic greens in creating each
savory dish. With daily homemade sauces and drinks
made from fresh fruit, it's no wonder Papagayo is a
